Entry to this course is strictly limited to holders of an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) for UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or successor).

It is a requirement student be in relevant employment or have access to relevant workplace and hold all relevant permits so work hours can be logged, and employer verified for completion of e-Profiling.

Note: Candidates must still achieve adequate supervised employment as an electrical worker to satisfy the on-the-job requirements for completion but are able to commence the course before securing suitable employment.

As part of the enrolment process, you will need to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) and Digital Literacy indicator Assessment. This assessment is used for reviewing your suitability for this course.

The minimum level required for entry to this Course is:

Entrants to the 11297NAT Course in Electrician – Minimum Australian Context Gap must:

• hold an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) for a UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or successor)
• hold a provisional/restricted licence issued by the regulatory authority responsible for regulating electrical work and licensing of workers in the jurisdiction where the training will take place
• be engaged (employed) as an electrical worker or have access to a workplace environment that replicates workplace conditions
• hold a certificate of currency for resuscitation (CPR) within the last twelve months and can provide a certificate of currency

• Students must provide their own Australian Standards (Paper or digital formats acceptable)
• PPE such as
  • Safety Glasses,
  • Safety Boots
  • Gloves.
  • Long sleeve shirt and pants
• It is requested that students provide their own:
  • Calibrated multimeter
  • An insulation tester with 250v, and 500v minimum ranges.
  • Hand tools such as;
    •  Screwdrivers – slotted and Philips
    •  Pliers
    •  Side cutters

These above tools can be provided for use at training if required

Students who are deemed competent in all units of competency will receive a Qualification and Students who are deemed competent in some units of competency only within this course will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Qualification or Statement is issued by Australian Trade Training College (RTO 31399).

Students who complete this course and have obtained their OTSR from the Australian Trade Training College will be eligible to receive their UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or its successor).

Where a student has a disability or learning difficulty, assessors will apply Australian Trade Training College reasonable adjustment to ensure that the student is not presented with artificial barriers to progress in the course.

Reasonable adjustments may include the use of adaptive technology, educational support, verbal assessment, etc.

We will provide support to each student’s individual needs, providing additional educational and wellness support required for the student to meet the requirements of their training course.
